Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 2/AD23.3.31. .WE.90 The following is a copy of my assistant's report on Messrs. West's enamelled secondary wire :- "We have now completed some comparative laboratory tests on a sample of the above wire handed to us by Mr Brock for test. / The tests were carried out in accordance with our specification of tests for this class of wire and the results were as follows :- (1) Immersion in NaOH, H₂SO₄, HNO₃ Negligible effect in each case. (2) Abrasion tests - Quite O.K. (3) Tensile breaking load. .56 lbs. compares very favourably with other makes. (4) Heat test - Quite O.K. (5) Electrical breakdown test. An average figure for four samples tested was 316 volts. Although not quite as good as some other makes as regards electrical breakdown, this wire passed our tests satisfactorily and would be quite O.K. for production." EFC. {E.
