To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} re Petrol Pumps - P.III. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}2/E3.11.36
Copy to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}E.

Referring to our discussion the other afternoon and the Test report of 35-EX for 28/29 October, I am wondering whether we want to go on trying the petrol pump for operation beneath the floorboards on this car.

I am anxious to see the double pump on production as quickly as possible but I assume you are waiting for a scheme for it from Design before you can put it on any car; also the question of doing away with under-guards and developing a mud-shield.

I hope that we shall never come to the petrol pump under the floor but I suppose we have got to go on developing it in case... so if you have other cars on which you can put the double pump etc., I suppose it is all right to leave the other one on 35-EX.
