ABFORD HOUSE, VICTORIA LONDON, S.W.1 Telephone: VICTORIA 5520 PERSONAL Head Office: 135 EAST 42nd STREET NEW YORK, U.S.A 2nd May, 1933. W. A.{Mr Adams} Robotham Esq., Rolls Royce Ltd., Nightingale Road, DERBY. Dear Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}, Last time I was in Derby you very kindly promised my chief and myself a run in your new Bentley. Bevan (my co-partner and chief) has just returned from the States and he said that he would very much like to avail himself of your offer. The only trouble is that he is exceedingly busy in the office here and cannot get away for a very long period. I was wondering whether you will be bringing the car down to Brooklands at any time. If so, I could bring Bevan down to the track and it would be rather nice to see how it behaves, flat out. If, or when, you do come to Brooklands please drop me a line giving me the time of your arrival, and I can arrange to be there and bring Bevan. Should you be unable to get to Brooklands at all, I shall certainly avail myself of the offer when I next come to Derby. That is to say, if it is convenient to you. I note that you are putting up for membership in the S.A.E. because they sent me the usual form the other day asking what I knew of you. I can assure you that I was very complimentary!! Kindest regards, Yours sincerely, Rod Banks P.S. The enclosed list just came from the States would you pass it on to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}? R.B. | ||
