X1282 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson}12/KT. May 3rd 1933. R.{Sir Henry Royce} Banks Esq. Ethyl Export Corporation, Abford House, Victoria, London. S.W.1. Dear Banks, Many thanks for your letter of the 2nd inst. I have passed on the information re. valve burning. With regard to the trial of the Bentley car, trips to Brooklands are somewhat spasmodic, and I think it would be best if you would try the car when next you are here. If you will give me a little notice of your coming, we shall have the opportunity of making sure that it is running. I have received a circular from the Cities Service Oil Co. Ltd on a new motor fuel known as Koolmotor Alcohol Blend, consisting of 75% Straight Run Californian No.1 Spirit plus 25% alcohol. I shall be grateful to you if you could tell me anything about this fuel. Do you know if it evades the usual water separation troubles common to alcohol fuels. Have you any knock rating figures of this fuel? Yours sincerely, | ||
