Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from R.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to BJ. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} X7080 R3/M20.6.28. PHANTOM CARBURETTER. X.7080 X.8080 This week we are sending you the drgs. of a new experimental carburetter for the Phantom engine. We shall be pleased if you will get these drgs. into the pattern shop as quickly as possible. It is important and urgent, as in case this carburetter promises well, it will save cost of fitting temporarily the old carburetter to EAC.10. In the experimental one the patterns need not be particularly exactly finished as regards making a high class casting, or being the minimum weight. There will be ample time during the experimental testing for us to make more finished patterns, and also it is almost certain to require several modifications before we can expect complete success. The object of this change is that the distribution both cold and hot should improve, and also the MEP. at all speeds. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
