Sheet No.6.

(4) Bentley.

a.{Mr Adams} Pk. asked for a ruling as to what he should reply if a customer asks what anti-knock fuel we recommend. He said that Kingsbury were not satisfied with Ethyl and quoted two cases of corrosion of sparking plug electrodes within 6,000 miles due to running on this fuel. Paris however, report no trouble.

It was decided that our reply should be that a Bentley will run on any No.1 Fuel. If a fuel of high anti-knock rating was required, we suggest Discol, National Benzole mixture and Ethyl.

b. In cases where no complaint has been made, it was decided that where non-safety-first modifications had not been applied before the car ran out of the guarantee, they should not be fitted unless the customer was willing to pay.

c. Rattle in Front Axle Control.

A cure, embodying a steel bush, is available for this trouble.

d.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} Wheel Drivers.

All Depots are supplied with over-size wheel drivers.

Kingsbury have found Duckhams Keenol grease to be an excellent lubricant for this job.

e.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Engine roughness.

In view of the difference of opinion between the various Depots as to what is the correct procedure regarding main bearing sinkage, CWH. and Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} were asked to consider the matter and make their recommendations.
