| THE MIDLAND MOTOR CYLINDER CO. LD. BIRMID WORKS, SMETHWICK, Near BIRMINGHAM. CYLINDER CASTINGS PISTONS & PISTON RINGS AIR COOLED CYLINDERS BRAKE DRUMS AND HUBS QUOTATION CONDITIONS 1. All clerical and stenographical errors and omissions shall be subject to subsequent correction. 2. EXCEPT WHERE OTHERWISE SPECIFICALLY STATED PRICES QUOTED ARE FOR UNMACHINED CASTINGS. 3. This quotation is made subject to acceptance delivered to us within 7 days from the date of despatch of such quotation. If not so accepted within the time named in the quotation shall be deemed to have been withdrawn unless ratified in writing by us. 4. We expressly reserve the right to increase the contract price as quoted herein at any time after the date of this quotation by such additional sum or sums as may from time to time be necessary to cover increases in cost of production occurring after the date of this quotation by reason of (a) increase in wages or diminution in hours or output of employees : (b) enhanced cost of materials or transport : or (c) in addition to those already specified any cause or factor whether statutory or otherwise beyond our control. 5. Packages will be charged for extra, and credited in full on being returned to us, carriage paid in good condition. 6. Any goods made by us from patterns of our manufacture and afterwards agreed by us to be defective will be replaced, but shall not form the subject of any claim for labour or other expenditure thereon or for resultant loss or damage arising out of any such defect. Goods admitted by us to be defective will be credited only if returned to our foundry, carriage paid within two calendar months, after the date of despatch of our invoice. Where customers supply their own patterns we do not undertake to replace castings found to be defective through faults in the design or construction of the patterns. 7. The time stated for delivery is given in all good faith, but is approximate only, and given without guarantee, and on the assumption that there be no accidents to machinery or breakdown of plant or power supply, shortage of fuel or other materials, strikes of workmen, lockout or other causes of delay beyond our control. Any period occupied by the making, alteration or adaptation of patterns, or experimental work of any kind in connection with any castings shall be excluded from the period specified for delivery which shall only be deemed to commence as regards any type of casting from the date of approval by the buyers of a sample casting. yours faithfully, THE MIDLAND MOTOR CYLINDER CO.
