REPORT ON RUNNING OF 27-G-VI.
------------------------------

I enclose herewith Mx {John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} 's further report on the running of 27-G-VI.

The report indicates that we are in an excellent position with the Wraith car, and that most of the points referred to in my previous memo have been dealt with successfully.

One new point has arisen which rather emphasizes the action I am taking in regard to Bentley III axle viz. that we have had on the new cylinder head two slight cracks on the seatings, which Mx. {John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} found on his car. They do not go through the seatings, but I am inclined to think they are not casting cracks, but the effect of continual running. Experiments are in hand which will elucidate this, and we shall be able to clear the matter up before cars go into service.
