Hdy {William Hardy} To BY. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from HDY. {William Hardy} HDY. {William Hardy} 1/HP.16.6.33. c. Wor. {Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} E. {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Da. {Bernard Day - Chassis Design} Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} RHO. x+698 J.3. type Dampers. With reference to the difficulty experienced in preventing leakage from the gland of the new type damper, we send herewith N. Sch. 3747 which shows a reversion to previous practice on the original 20/25 dampers, suggested by Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Les. in order to make the packing operation simpler. It will now be necessary to make an oil tight joint between the gland cap and the body, and to facilitate this we have stiffened the cap. We provide alternative springs each of greater strength than before. There is no alteration to the damper body. HDY. {William Hardy} | ||
