1044. To HPS{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}/RH.{R. Hollingworth} c.c. to Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} c.c. to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTC. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/RC.{R. Childs}3/JH.6.4.40. re B.40 Engine No.1. The following electrical units will be required for the first B.40 engines :- Dynamo. Lucas C.45.NV. No.3. (Lab) mounting and pulley to PL.116 required. Starter Motor Lucas M.45.G. Distributor. Delco Remy Model 635MS serial No.87968. This unit will require the existing drive dog removing and a standard B.60 spring drive (on DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}1867) fitting. A new housing to RR.J16 is provided in the crankcase L.O.P. H.T. Wiring. No scheme for this is at the moment ready. However this willprovide no "hold up".
