We attach a note from Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} in which you will see that he has agreed to our programme for getting some improvement on existing cars quickly. We would ask you to detail an intermediate piston and lever as shown on N. sch. 3251, so that we can run an endurance test on these parts with minimum delay. Meanwhile we are completing a 25 HP. car fitted up with Ph. II rear type dampers and we shall send this down to W.W. very shortly. We consider that the piston should be tried out in cast iron and brass as we do not know any advantage gained by using the more expensive material. They have also omitted to put inserted steel pads for the rubbing surfaces for the intermediate lever in the piston, and therefore we should recommend that they should be detailed with such pads. We have written to-day pointing out this ommision.
