| To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} 426 HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}14/JH. 8.4.36. E.R. Hall's Car. In conjunction with the memo. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/KW.6.4.36. it is possible to house a spare oil tank of 2 galls. capacity between the Bijur tank and the side of the dash. A cylindrical tank 7" dia. and 14" long gives the 2 gall. capacity as against a 1 gall. tank used in last year's T.T. race. This can be mounted on the dash as per the 25/30 HP. autovac, but due to the increased length will require staying up from the dash to the outer end. The filler cap should be mounted horizontally on the top of the tank and opening in the same direction as the standard oil filler cap, that is inwards. It should protrude through a hole cut in the bonnet. The cap to be of Camlock quick-action type as made by Ceandess Ltd, Merivale street, Wolverhampton, having a 2.00 to 2.500" bore. On the underside of the tank a tap is to be fixed, suitable for connection to ½" dia. pipe and actuated by a rod through the dash. The tap used in the previous tank was to U.737.
