-2- There would seem to be a difficulty from time to time in reaching agreement in respect of criticism of these steering features between myself and other technical officials at Derby. I am most anxious it should not be possible for the condition to arise that whilst my opinion is readily accepted by Derby that the steering on 27-WJ is fairly perfect, the same officials concerned do not accept my opinion about the steering of another car such as 2-WJ. Hooper Trials which has altogether less selectivity. Either one or the other of us is wrong, or Derby officials are not sufficiently sensitive to varying characteristics which I am not suggesting. an Such extremely small change of adjustment undoubtedly appears to make a big difference in steering conditions. It will be useful I think for me to meet Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} with EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} directly I have some definite case where we may not be in agreement, in order that we may arrive at an understanding as to where and why we may differ. It will not be feasible for me to be at Derby until after the Olympia Show, then however I want to be available as much as you desire, certainly for some time ahead. We shall probably find sufficient important material to test and discuss if I come to Derby once a week. PN.{Mr Northey} (unclear signature) | ||
