X6005 W/N. To Br.{T. E. Bellringer - Repair Manager} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.1/KT.7.2.33. INACCESSIBILITY OF LUBRICATOR TO REAR BEARING OF DYNAMOS ON 25 H.P. CHASSIS. With reference to Br2/A.2.2.33. We see no objection to opening out the hole, as suggested in the third paragraph of your note, but we would point out that it is still possible to lubricate the dynamo by moving the end cover clear of the lubricator even with the lagged exhaust pipe. One feature of having the small drain hole of its present diameter is that the cover can be removed and fastened by means of this small drain hole to the lubricator, so that customers can run their dynamos with the end cover removed, without the latter clattering on the drive shaft, for the purpose of inspection of brushes.
