We send herewith N.Sch.5128 showing a modification to the rear axle shafts. The shaft is not now turned down to the diameter of the root of the splines adjacent to the splines, but is made the same diameter as the tops of the splines for a short distance and then increases to 1.3125 as before. This modification is based on Pw/Ssth.3/JH.19.4.37 on the subject of stiff axle shafts. N.Sch.5128 herewith. E/IDY. | ||
