Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} X1245 Sr. is absent Levallois VA2/ET.7.4.36 Re: OIL CONSUMPTION ON BENTLEY CHASSIS Chassis N°B.179.AE - Mr. F.EDMOND BLANC With reference to paragraph 7 of our memo Sr/VA3/ET. 24.3.36, we had a talk to-day with the driver of the above car and he informed us that, prior to the seizure of N°6 aerolite piston, the oil consumption was very low, viz. about 2 litres per 3000 Kms. Since the fitting of a new piston to N°6 cylinder and the changing of the connecting rods for the "drilled up" type, the consumption is now 3 litres per 2000 Kms. as per the driver's state- ment. Although we have not made an oil consumption test on this car, we thought the above might be of interest to you, although the figures may be rather vague.
