PRICE'S LUBRICANTS.

Replying to C.S/C6.2.34.

The reason we do not agree with labels being fixed to the car shewing what oil the car is filled up with, is because - firstly, the labels are of no value as far as we are concerned, that is, we do not mind which oil is put into cars. As you point out, they have a certain advertising value.

We are not getting any special favours from Prices or Wakefields as regards the price of oil. Shell and Vacuum are quite willing to supply us with oils at the same price as they do. We do not wish however to carry a stock of four oils and it is purely for our own convenience that we restrict it to two.

If we continue with the labels we shall get the firms which are left out pressing us to supply oil at the Works. We therefore recommend that we start them all off level so that we avoid any controversy.
