I played golf recently with a man who, from the nature of our conversation throughout the game and afterwards, prompted me to listen rather attentively to the interest he was taking in an inventor in connection with a variable transmission system. The man I spoke to appears to be one of some means, and as he might eventually turn out to be a Rolls-Royce purchaser, I appeared more than ordinarily interested in his proposal. He was to bring along and introduce to us an inventor who has a new design of variable transmission. He did this, and as the inventor was unable to explain his system in simple language I suggested after a brief conversation that he should send a short note on the general principle of his system, which I would pass on to you, so that you could if you thought it advisable arrange for an interview. I understand he has a small working model which he could bring along, using for the motive power a small electric motor which works best on 250 D.C. I attach the description which I have now received. If you are interested will you please let me know, and I would fix an appointment. Enc. Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} Cwb | ||
