NOTES ON SK'S CONFERENCE HELD 2.3.37.

P.III.

(1) It was agreed that the Works should order forgings suitable for the stiffer half shafts now. If the rig test is successful these could be brought in at the 101st chassis in 'D' Series.
Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} would like the price of the changeover to stiff shafts on existing cars.

(2) It was agreed that we could issue a Depot Sheet for close clearance P.III Inlet valves, at the same time we are to advise depots to screw and tap cylinder heads so that oil drains can be fitted at a future date, if necessary. The exact location of these holes is to be decided in conjunction with Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} A standardisation sheet is to be issued immediately for the close clearance inlet valves to start right away on production.

(3) Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} to say whether he agrees to the Experimental Dept. gearbox to engine stay, or, if not, to issue a new design.

(4) We are to go ahead and order the latest type Dunlop silent type tyre for production on P.III and 25/30.

(5) Before standardising the starter motor brake will West make sure that it is doing its job of work.

(6) If the large propeller shaft damper does improve the clutch we can standardise it.

(7) Will Ies. urge the R.R. edition of the Arens Shock Absorber control.

(8) Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} wants to know the price we shall pay for the new K.L.G. sparking plugs.

(9) We are to write to Park Wards expressing disapproval of the rear cushioning in 38-MX.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer}

(10) The Continental P.III body should be ready for collection by 6.3.37.

(11) Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} hoped that the increased shaft centres overdrive gearbox would be fitted to 39-MX{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer}; if not, one of the original type should be fitted for the French test.
