X1070 To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Smth.7/KW.4.12.35. Solid Hall's Metal Bearing. A solid Hall's metal bearing (.0018" clearance) fitted to our test conn. rod and crankpin assembly tightened up when reduced to 13°F.{Mr Friese} (- 10.5°C.), but not to the same extent as the dural rod. Whereas with the dural rod, the bearing could not be turned by hand at the low temperature, the bushed bearing could be turned easily. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Smth. | ||
