x4456 Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rn.{Mr Robinson}13/KW. 19th December, 1934. Captain Wilks, Managing Director, The Rover Motor Car Company, COVENTRY. Dear Captain Wilks, We are getting rather interested in the Girling Brake. I wonder whether you could give me any information on one point: when the front brakes have been washed by a high pressure hose and are in the process of drying off, do you get a shudder for the last few yards before the car comes to rest when pulling up ? As far as we know this shudder does occur on a great number of cars, and is worse with Ferodo M.R. linings than with Ferodo Bonded Asbestos linings, but not very much worse. With regard to the Rover car, I should be indebted to you if you could either get this car licenced for twelve months before I take delivery, or alternatively, let me have the necessary particulars so that I can get the licence. Yours sincerely, | ||
