X196 c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/Tmm4/H11.7.24. re. Fan and Dynamo Belts. 40/50 HP. Cars. With reference to the previous correspondence which has passed with regard to the above, in view of the amount of time and trouble which is experienced in obtaining quiet running belts, you will agree that something really serious should be done in this direction as soon as ever possible. We have recently received six special Belts from America, three of which I have handed to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} One of these belts has already been tried on a production car, the dynamo drive of which we could not get quiet, although we had tried quite a number of our own belts. The fitting of the "American" belt overcame the noise and I certainly, therefore, recommend that Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} should immediately test and report on these belts. EP.{G.
