To: [text crossed out] From: Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} X 1265 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}10/MJ.3.8.35. The larger Helical gear oil pumps which we have been fitting inconjunction with lead bronze bearings have demonstrated that they do not prime very satisfactorily. This means that when the crankcase for any reason is drained there may be considerable difficulty in getting oil pressure again. We should like to know whether you have had any experience of this trouble. It is possible that we exaggerate the difficult because we have had a case where trouble arose.
