X5780 X5802 X5440 X4338 Will you please let me know what is being done, if anything, in your Dept., with reference to the electrical items mentioned in CWB's report on 10,000 miles test, these being :- (1) "The Klaxon wire through the steering column failed at 9,000 miles, there being an intermittent short somewhere. This has been a source of failure in other cases, and it would seem desirable either to give better protection or to adopt a different form of insulation for it - probably the latter would be the more effective, as it appears to get thoroughly sodden with oil which rots the india-rubber of the material now used." (2) "The head and side lamps, which were on the wings, and their bulbs stood the test very well, but the tail lamp was completely destroyed by flying stones and had been replaced by a cheap lamp with celluloid window obtained locally.
