Contd. -2- EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 5/T12.8.24. Clause 6. So much the better if there are two central stays in place of one. Clause 7. We had recently reduced the weight limit from 115 lbs. to 110 lbs, realising that we were, as they say, over generous. Clause 8a. The cell dimensions were inserted from figures previously given by Messrs. P & R (or perhaps by the Chloride Co.) and we have no objection to altering them to what they consider is right. Clause 12. We will adopt their suggestion of stating that the sealing compound may be poured between the centre cells where the bicycle spokes are situated, so as to cover these up and protect them from acid. As regards the remarks of the Chloride Co., contained in Wd {Mr Wood / Mr Whitehead} 13/NJ30.7.24, as previously stated the capacity of the battery of 80 ampere-hours has been realised on test in the first instance. As regards Clause 4, so long as we continue to use the Lucas generator we have to specify that the battery must be capable of withstanding a protracted charging current of 1 2 amperes in the fully charged condition, but this state of affairs will be improved on new chassis when our own generator comes into use.
