R Wyman, Please [text crossed out] Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} To DY.{F R Danby} from E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner} c. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner}1/HP.19.1.35. re 25-HP. Exhaust Suspension to E.60330. We propose to try experimentally stronger springs in suspension links in order to overcome complaints of knocking in the silencer suspension. The particulars of the spring are:- Diameter of wire. .092 (13 SWG). No. of working coils. 7. Inside diameter. .410. Load in position. 49 lbs. Free length. 1.375. Stress. 80,000 lbs. We notice on the cars going through that the amount of telescoping in the links is smaller than is shown on the drawings, especially in the case of the tail pipe link. E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner} | ||
