FGM/IFW. Head Offices, Works and Design Dept.: DALLOW ROAD, LUTON. Messrs. Rolls-Royce, Ltd., DERBY. F.J. HARDY Friday, 20th August, 1937. For the attention of F.J. Hardy, Esq. Dear Sirs, We are duly in receipt of your letter of the 19th instant, reference as above, and have carefully noted the contents of the same. Following our letter of the 16th instant, we now have pleasure in enclosing herewith two drawings, our M.22614 and M.22615, shewing the Cam and Roller in accordance with the requirements you lay down in your letter of the 14th instant, reference Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer}4/AP. In regard to the Cam, we would like to call your attention to the fact that the full lines on the drawing assume that the total Rocker Shaft movement available in the box from stop to stop is 84 degrees. If the 84 degrees movement is required on the road then the available travel inside the box must be no less than 90 degrees, and the dotted line dimensions in black ink are for a Cam giving this latter movement, namely, 90 degrees. We beg to take the liberty of enclosing also drawing of our standard '510' Cam, P.3339, and you will note - 1 - Handwritten annotations: Document number: 1.1300 Next to "Our Ref.": .152, 608 Around the date: .152, 304, 362/-, 1.450 Below "For the attention of...": 1.366, 304/, 1.057, 2.114 Signature: F.J.
