Instructions for setting the main brush movement and retard range on an E.A.C. dynamo.

Kindly note that in the case of the E.A.C. dynamo the main brushes should be given in the first instance the same degree of retard, namely 9º from no load neutral position. The first experimental machine, however, should be instructed with a range of main brush movement of 9º advance from this position, and if possible the same amount of retard, but failing this, a minimum of 6º retard would be acceptable. In other words the available range should be from no load neutral position to a minimum of 15º retard from that position.
