SALES DIRECTOR'S OFFICE.

3rd December 1935.

Messrs.Rolls Royce Ld,
DERBY.

Attention of Mr.W .A.Robotham.

Dear Sirs,

JACKALL SYSTEM ON 21/G/IV CHASSIS.

Further to yours of the 28th November Ref: Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}29/KW. The writer has been investigating our records and cannot find any evidence to support your statement that after the jacks had been filled with the correct fluid and our representative had left, they failed half an hour afterwards.

Actually, our representative visited your works on Wednesday the 2nd October, and the attached copy of letter signed by Mr.Bowering dated 7th October (five days later) confirms that the jacks were quite satisfactory.

Please forgive us if we appear to be a little persistent but a copy of your letter dated 28th November was passed along to our Fitting Manager who has asked the writer to point out that the system was in good order when he left Derby on the 2nd October. He also reminds us of the fact that he telephoned your good folk at 2 p.m. on the following day when he was informed that the car had been standing on the jacks all night and was perfectly satisfactory.

Handwritten note on right: File, sent Secretary & Mr Nicholl
