Hood. To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} HPS{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr}/RH.{R. Hollingworth}1/SW.6.3.40. 9.B.V. In reply to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation}11/ML.5.3.40, re. fitting of B.60 No. 3 Engine Unit into 9.B.V., the controlling feature will be the new flywheel PL.109. We have explained to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS{C. Trot Salt - Carburation} there is no detail drawing for this piece and he is going to follow this up, in the meantime forgings are being obtained. As the above appears to be a long distance job, suggest engine should be rebuilt and fitted to Chassis, and changed over when Flywheels are available.
