In a letter to me today the above quotes as follows regarding oil and petrol consumptions of his car for 24,000 miles, which he thought may be of interest to us:- "She still runs like a dream and I thought you might be interested to have some oil and petrol consumptions for 24,000 miles: Oil...........1,550 m.p.g. Petrol........18.5 m.p.g. The latter seems to me to be a remarkable figure, and incidentally has been double-checked every week so that no odd fillings could escape record.
