PHANTOM II. VIBRATION BOOM PERIODS. -12-MY.

We have had a bad case (12-MY) of the above. As a chassis, the period was noticeable, and as a finished car was distinctly objectionable, especially in the rear seats, and could not be passed for delivery.

The period occurred at 60 m.p.h. forward rolling and retard, more pronounced on forward drive. Corresponding engine speeds on gears.

It was eventually found that dismantling the silencer supporting bolts practically eliminated the "period". The car was made passable,(although not cured) by making easy fitting bolts, using spring washers just compressed and pinned castle nuts.

Will you please give this matter your attention and investigation, and issue some proposed modification which can be applied as standard and also retrospectively in case of further trouble on test.

We understand you already have a car with this trouble in your hands.
