PHANTOM EXHAUST SYSTEMS.

In Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}5/KT30-1-33 you mention your intention to experiment with the exhaust system of Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}'s new chassis (104-MY) before it leaves W.

It occurs to us that it may be as well for you to know what sort of an extended back the body will have and we are therefore sending you herewith a copy of Barker's print reference CF-10601 which shews an exactly similar back.

The print actually refers to another car but the back is identical in every way; in fact the only differences between the two cars are those necessitated by the long wheelbase of 104-MY and the introduction of a division into the body of 104-MY.

In the ordinary way we should have asked you to bring through 104-MY with an extended silencer of the same relative length as those on chassis 2-MY and 20-MY but as you have in mind conducting experiments, we are leaving it to you to provide a suitable silencer when you know the results of your experiments.
