SALES DIRECTOR'S OFFICE. 29th June 1936. Seen E W. A.{Mr Adams} Robotham, Esq., Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., DERBY. Dear Mr. Robotham, Thanks for yours of the 26th which is consoling in that as always in your case it offers the retort courteous. I will not pursue the question of design excepting to state that there are several remarkably similar features in our Competitor's system, notably the Distribution box. Actually, one of your Agents who knows the Jackall system well, mentioned that our jacks were coming through on Phantom III Chassis, which caused me to investigate the matter. Regarding your mention of the fact that Jackalls gave trouble on your cars in France, in fairness to us, in the last instance we found that fluid other than Jackall was being used. In referring to your concluding remarks, as we understand that you are standardising our Competitor's system on the Phantom III you will appreciate that the cost of a replacement set of the special nature required will be too prohibitive to enable us to offer same at an interesting figure.
