Dear Sirs,
For the attention of Mr.Salt, Experimental Department.
Your yesterday's letter, addressed for the attention of Mr.Skinner, has been dealt with by the writer as Mr.Skinner is unfortunately somewhat indisposed, and may not be returning here for a day or so.
The writer finds on investigation that the 1 7/8" air valves you ordered by 'phone, and confirmed by letter and official order, were put in hand, but you were advised on the 9th instant by letter what you had been informed by 'phone by our Mr.Cooper, that these suction chambers were not by any means a standard type and special castings had to be ordered, and that some delay was occurring on the part of our suppliers.
The castings were, however, received and the parts made and despatched on Saturday the 14th inst. Unfortunately, a slip occurred on that date, as instead of being sent direct to your tester in Paris the parts were sent to Derby. On this being ascertained our Mr.Cooper 'phoned your Company on Monday the 16th January and someone at your end promised to get hold of them and have them sent to Paris at once.
CONTINUED.
