<s>BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer}</s> FROM E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} C. to - <s>DJ.</s> " HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} " EFC. EAC.10. ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION. El/M22.9.28. <s>X780</s> X7740 We understand that R.{Sir Henry Royce} is rather of the opinion that the green light may not be adopted until chassis EAC. 10. The wiring diagram has therefore been redrawn with this in view, and we send you herewith LeC. 2595. shewing the various revisions outlined in R's recent correspondence. You will notice that the wiring has been arranged for a separate charging switch, and an accessory distribution board for klaxon horn, body lights, and coachbuilding accessories. The dimmer for the headlamps has been placed on the fuse side of the circuit. This involves bringing back 2 separate wires from the dash to the dimmer, but is thought worth while. The diagram shews the EAC. 10. sequence starter and the starter press button is connected up to a terminal on the battery side of the ammeter, since the teazer [text struck through] current is in excess of the maximum ammeter reading. We also attach to this memo. drawing LeC. 2596. shewing a modification to LeC. 2594. distribution board. The battery fuse holder has been made of the same general pattern as the other fuse holders, but is larger in size and higher in position, this latter feature leaving room for a separate aperture through the board, isolating the positive connection to the battery. The green lamp circuit has been reconnected to fuse No. 6. as the original intention of placing the switchbox on one of the smaller fuses has been abandoned. This distribution board retains the features of LeC. 2594. whereby the only earth on the face of the board is that required for the cutout, and green lamp magnet circuits. We have in hand a design for the charging switch, and also a design for the accessory distribution board. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
