X4562 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.2/AD. 11th November 1931. Messrs. Bosch Ltd. Larden Rd. Acton, London, W.3. For the attention of Mr. Dunn. Dear Sirs, Regarding the Bosch electrical units which we obtained from you recently and which we are now testing, we note that the cut-out on the 200 watt dynamo operates at rather a high voltage, namely approx. 17 volts. Presumably this is a mistake as the cut in voltages on most 12 volt dynamos is approximately the standing battery voltage of the system i.e. roughly 13 volts. Would you kindly inform us if this is the correct setting for this machine and if so for what reason, as to us it would appear impracticable for such a machine to be used in conjunction with a 12 volt battery system. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
