X6115. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey}1/BE. Experimental Dept. April 5th. 1933. Klaxon Limited, 36, Blandford Street, LONDON. W.1. For the attention of Mr. C.R. Gentry. Dear Sirs, We beg to acknowledge, with thanks, your letter of the 31st, ult: With regard to the last paragraph, we do not think there will be any advantage in arranging for the lid{A. J. Lidsey} of the wiper gear box to be extended to accomodate fixing screws. We do not think this method of fixing would prove satisfactory. The present lugs, cast on the side of the gear box, would, we think, be quite satisfactory if they did not extend further forward than the front face of the gear box; they should, of course, be extended more towards the lid{A. J. Lidsey} face of the gear box than the models we have previously had, which have had these lugs filed off flush with the front face of the box. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
