We have stepped the liners and tightened up the main bearings of this car. We have fitted RR.56 liners to the mains and big end bearings.

We found that the big end of N°3 connecting rod had at some time overheated and had "015" play sideways in the rod.

We have ordered a new connecting rod complete with bearing from the Works and, as soon as it arrives, we will fit it.

As requested by Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry{Shadwell Grylls} to Sr. we are ceasing to send our usual "report upon sinkage of bearings and alteration to liners" to the Experimental Department.

We have, in the past, sent about 12 of the above reports to the Experimental Department and we agree with Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} that the information which we have already given should put them quite "au fait" as to what happens to Hall's metal main bearings as fitted to 4 1/4 litre chassis, when a car has covered from 10.000 to 15.000 Kms.
