X 1280 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Std.7/KW.9.8.35. Programme of Radiator Matrix Tests as agreed Verbally in discussion with Messrs. Marston on 8.8.35. (1) Comparison of American Harrison Vee 52 m.m. matrix with existing Marston Mark VI 52 m.m. matrix - both matrices to be supplied by us. Test & Conditions. (a) (To be carried out with each matrix in turn). Water flow - 18.0 gallons/minute. Air flow = 85 m.p.h. car speed or nearest obtainable. Water inlet - 74°C. Air inlet to - radiator 26°C. Measure { Water temp. at exit from radiator. { Air " " " " " . { Pressure of air at each side of radiator. This will give heat dissipated and air speed through radiator. (b) (To be carried out with each matrix in turn). Water flow - 18.0 gallons/minute. Air flow = 85 m.p.h. car speed or nearest obtainable. Temperature difference between water inlet and outlet to be 20°F.{Mr Friese} = heat dissipation of 3600 B.T.U's/min. Air inlet to radiator - 26°C. Measure { Inlet and exit water temperatures. { Air temperature at exit from radiator. { Pressure of air at each side of radiator. This test will give a check on our method of calculating heat dissipation from our Brooklands figures. | ||
