[Handwritten]: Mexican spirit Re sample of Petrol (quality and name not specified) submitted in a tin mug yesterday from Experimental. The petrol was found to start boiling at 45 C. Only 26% was distilled over at 100 C. " 31% " " " " 120 C. " 33.5%" " " " " 125 C. The specific Gravity = .733. Rectification Test. This gave too dark a colour and the petrol became cloudy (see our suggested specification). From the above results it appears that the spirit is a heavy one, seeing that 66.5% does not come over till 125 C is past. The Specific Gravity is on the high side but passable. The Rectification Test shows that the petrol is not suitable for Aero Engines.
