Spring Interleaving.

We have fitted all known types of interleaving but have yet to find any that are satisfactory.

Triangle Levers.

One lower triangle lever failed on 9.B.V. at 45,500 miles. All levers on our experimental cars were immediately examined and one on 2.B.50 was found cracked, this lever had then run 34,500 miles, all the Levers on our experimental cars were made of cast steel.

We found some partly finished forged levers in the experimental stores and these were completed and fitted to 9.B.V. and 30.G.VII and have run to date 10,500 miles and 31,800 miles respectively.

COOLING SYSTEM.

Radiators.

Every one of our Radiators has at some time or other leaked at one of the joints on the Header Tank.

Bk.{A. Birkett - Commercial Manager} has only to-day reported to me that Deaveraux's car and 10.B.V. have been into Hythe Road during the last few days with leaks from the Header Tank.

We are awaiting a report from Bk.{A. Birkett - Commercial Manager} because he says he thinks he has found the trouble.

ENGINES.

Water Pump.

The original Vauxhall type Water Pumps fitted to B.60 and B.80 were hopeless. The main trouble was the failure of the glands and bearings and consequent leaks. A new Buick type of Water Pump was designed and made, and these were fitted to 9.B.V., 3.B.50., 4.B.50 and 30.G.VII., and to date they have run a total mileage of 131,200 free from trouble.

Carburetters.

We have been in constant trouble with sticking pistons in the S.U. Carburetters and this we attribute to the Zinc Alloy carburetter body distorting when hot. This definitely requires a change of material.
