X4554 BY4/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 20.12.26. ***************** MATERIAL D.2.SERIES RECEIVED Please note that the new front axle with the central boss carrying the operating shaft slightly inclined to the axis of the axle, is the one we should order for D.2. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} is issuing a standardization sheet covering this. Gear Box. The internally cut gear in place of dogs on the direct drive should be instructed for D.2. It is infinitely better than the old scheme, and there is nothing that can go wrong with same. Here again Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} is issuing a standardization sheet. In regard to the silencer cut out mechanism, as raised by BY/HSB, Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} is looking into this but at the moment is not clear that the advantages are such as to justify pushing it on to D.2. He will let us know early this week. L.P. F75344 In regard to the question of Cast dash raised by BY/HSB. I think we are too close to D.2. series to get this in, as I understand Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} is far from satisfied with the cast dash, because it intensifies torque re-action vibration. I am fixing the above position after having carefully studied Dal/W.17.12.26. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} By | ||
