H.R. 493A (50H) (D.B. 175 25-9-24) J.H.D. EXPERIMENTAL REPORT. -2- Expl. No. REF: Hsl/LG30.1.25. We do not agree that the desirable qualities of a car for demonstration are necessarily the qualities a customer desires when he uses the car under average conditions. (6) Front springs. These are now the standard which are instructed for 'V' series cars. The low speed vibrations on the car we have not been able to improve. We have not had anything like sufficient time to say whether they can be improved. Above 16 m.p.h. we consider the car is very satisfactory on the forward drive. The retard vibrations are also less than they were the last time you had this car. In your memo BJ15/H26.1.25. Item 7. it is mentioned that the stiffness of the steering was due to accident. This is not correct. At the moment we do not know how to improve the steering on 41-PK car. The suggestion is that when the proper tools are made for producing the steering, it will possibly be better. We cannot be sure of that until we have tried it. The cover for the rockers on this car has a bright aluminium finish. R.{Sir Henry Royce} suggested that it should be finished in this way. Our own opinion is that it is not as serviceable as the black enamel. We should like you views on this because all production 'V' series are being made with the bright alum: covers. We think it is wrong when testing EAC. cars to dismiss any fault with the idea that it is going to be cured later. Our contd :- | ||
