(Experimental Dept.) 1104 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}5/R.{Sir Henry Royce} 21st January, 1937. Capt. Black, Managing Director, The Standard Motor Co.,Ltd., COVENTRY. Dear Capt. Black, Mr. S.B. Wilks of the Rover Company very kindly said that he would write you on my behalf with reference to one of our Representatives paying a visit to the Standard Company to have a look at your general Works organisation. As you probably know we have recently had a complete change in the Administration at Derby, and the Works are being generally re-organised, in consequence of which we are particularly interested in what other people are doing. If this visit is possible, Mr. R.{Sir Henry Royce} Royce, who is the official concerned, would very much like to come over to Coventry on Thursday or Friday of next week. I should also very much like to have a talk with your Engineering Dept. some day, if this can be arranged. As the two Companies are in no way competitors, and yet must have innumerable design problems in common, an interchange of views might be of advantage to all concerned. We should, of course, be pleased to see any of your people down here at any time on similar subjects. We shall, however, quite understand if you prefer not to talk about your design work. Yours sincerely, | ||
