-2- Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd. 15.5.39 These figures are self-explanatory. There is obviously a reduction in viscosity, due to the petrol dilution. We should not regard 6% of petrol as excessive. True, it is usually between 3 and 5%, but obviously there is not much difference between 5 and 6%. The insoluble matter is extremely small. Our opinion is that the oil is in very good condition, assuming that Castrolite is a suitable oil for the engine in which it has been run. This qualification is necessary, because if Castrolite should happen to be thin for the job, a little further reduction in viscosity might become serious. Yours faithfully, C. C.
