H3/T3/26.4.22 Paris Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} [crossed out] Re:- Defective Tire, Wheel and Flange on "107-MG". You will remember that on Easter Day I asked you to set aside the Dunlop wheel, flange and tire which had experienced a puncture outside Paris on the previous evening, because I anticipated it would require examination by W. or the Dunlop Company. You proposed, I believe, to get the views of the French Dunlop people to start with. Will you please let me know what they reported, and also confirm that you still have the wheel, tire and flange, should W. wish you to send them over. The Works ask me to ascertain from you whether on the other wheels the detachable rim beds properly in the groove all round, and has a clearance at its joint. The end of the rim should not come choc-o-bloc, but have a clearance of at least 0.1".
