We hope to have the opportunity of looking at the Cadillac pistons in the immediate future, and these should tell us a great deal as to the durability of the American anodic coat when applied to their low expansion alloys. If the coat appears to have lasted for 20,000 miles, then we may reasonably hope to get the same results. If, on the other hand, it has worn off, then the Americans apparently are using this coating only for getting an initial bedding on the pistons.
