S A L E S (A) PRODUCTION OF GOSHAWK II. Reference sundry letters between CJ, H, Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}, and Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} It was agreed that it is essential for the earliest production of Goshawk II that an authorised representative of the Wittering Design Staff should pay frequent visits to Derby, with a view to closer and speedier co-operation between Design and Experimental departments, to arrive at the speediest possible solution of problems. This is especially essential at this epoch of the production of the car. It was agreed that all the time of EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} and Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} must be spent in the Experimental Department and it was suggested that by Saturday they would be able to say Goodbye to their departments until Goshawk had been sufficiently proven to enable it to be put into production. It was thought that Sales Department co-operation in Experimental Dept. was not at present necessary, but that shortly it would be. It was agreed that PN.{Mr Northey} could be called upon to come up to Derby and help, when required. SUPPLIES FOR GOSHAWK II, such as Frame Side Members, Crankshafts etc It was agreed that this was not really a matter for this conference, it was more a matter for R.{Sir Henry Royce} to settle, but it was agreed that a certain amount of these articles should be ordered at the date necessary. AMOUNT OF SCRAP. It was suggested that the design scrap at present on the 40/50HP car is about 5%. It was thought that for the production of the first 250 Goshawks the design scrap would be 15% to 20%. It was agreed that even if it was up to 20% scrap it | ||
