R16/D21110 Referring to the six-cylinder question, we have two means of keeping the vibrations small, one is the central flywheel which may be possible with a long stroke engine, the second is the front damper flywheel, (with friction attachment); and to stop this from having any effect on the camshaft wheels, we have the spring drive when the gears are situated at the front, or if driven from the flywheel end of the engine, no spring drive is necessary. To keep the vibrations to a minimum, which is the best of all solutions, we have the present camshafts of half the diameter of the cylinder with the short stroke, and two-thirds the diameter of the cylinder with the long stroke, which equals 2 2/3"; - and lastly the large camshaft.
